We thank Grantbook for sponsoring and presenting this session!

In this session, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and their philanthropy consultant partner Grantbook will share highlights from the Packard Foundation’s journey to reexamine grantmaking practices through a lens of improving grantee experiences and staff effectiveness. Building on a streamlined approach that the Packard Foundation put into place in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Packard Foundation updated longstanding processes to incorporate best practices and strengthen funder-grantee partnerships. Two years after rolling out the changes, we’ll share the overall approach taken, challenges encountered, and key outcomes of our GMS reimplementation we coined "Grantsformation." Learn about the Packard Foundation’s approach to making key shifts in processes, technology, data collection, and training including: streamlining the proposal process; reducing reporting burdens by shifting to a more relationship-centric approach; and building grantees’ financial resilience.
